Prayer To The Poker Gods

I pray to the poker Gods

to give me a hand

keep me from the river

that yeilds quicksand,

Let me have enough chips

to call every round

I know he has aces

but together we can run him down.

Keep my eyes straight ahead

 no expression on my face

may my bluff be strong

allow me just that little wrong

At the end of the game

let me speak no blame

even tho their calls were pretty lame

I guess if they win they have no shame.

Help me shake the winners hand

Forgive my congrats if it sounds a little bland

remember I am but a mortal man

I hope next time you have a better plan.

Come sit by my side

and share my  beer

when you are with  me

I have no fear.

Amen!
